Award-winning fine jewelry design house Yael Designs will premiere its Fall/Winter black and white diamond collection at the prestigious Prime Jewelry Group show in Boston August 23-24.

The luxurious Mosaic Collection includes 48 pendants, rings and earrings made with black and white diamonds set in white gold. The abstract design of the pieces was inspired by mesmerizing geometric and natural patterns found in mosques and carpets of the Middle East, the birthplace of Yael’s chief designer Yehouda Saketkhou.

Just as in the ancient art form of mosaic, the designer used small diamonds of different sizes to create a unified look and perfect curvature of each piece. The jewelry pieces contain anywhere from 1.5 to 3.5 carats of diamonds, created by a cascade of dozens or even hundreds of brilliant black and white stones.

“At first glance, the abstract black and white patterns seem simple, but when you look closer you see a complicated mosaic of stones,” said Mr. Saketkhou.

The jewelry collection includes stand-alone pieces as well as several matching sets of rings, earrings and pendants.

“The black and white diamond pendants and earrings would look gorgeous paired with a little black dress or a cocktail gown,” said the designer. “The chunky diamond rings would also help spice up a jeans-and-blouse look.”

All Mosaic pieces have micropave setting, the newest trend in jewelry that allows to showcase the diamonds by hiding all the metal underneath.

The price range for the Mosaic Collection is $ 5000 to $ 15,000. The collection will be available online at http://www.yaeldesigns.com and in select stores.

Yael Designs will launch the collection at the Prime Jewelry Group show, an exclusive event that includes 39 of the jewelry industry’s leading luxury designers. The show will be held at the InterContinental Hotel in Boston, MA Aug. 23-24.
