how long can you wear fake earrings without getting an infection?

my real gold earring fell out and i just put in a fake diamond one. how long can i wear this without getting an infection?

Depends how delicate your ears are.
I can only wear them for a day, & not to sleep.

I would NEVER wear a fake earring,

depends on the person
for me, i can wear it for days and days almost a week and then i take it off for an hour or two and then put it right back in
plus, im on the swim team so swim everyday with it on and its fine for me
but if your ears are more delicate, i would say a day or two

Depends on your personal body chemistry, the mix of metals and sometime the time of the month. If your ear begins to feel uncomfortable or turn red or swollen, take out the earring. Many people can wear costume jewelry for a day, but not for several days in a row. Just pay attention and you will know the answer for yourself soon enough.
