Gold Diamond Cut Earrings for xmas… that I don’t really want.?

My boyfriend and I are both students, but decided to get each other expensive gifts this year (approx a $400 limit each). He got me mixed yellow gold and white gold hoop earrings that are diamond cut. I have never owned a fancy pair of earrings in my life. . but I do frequently complain about how I don’t really like little earrings (my hair is long so you can’t see them). I know he really really wanted to find the perfect gift, so I’m not sure if I should tell her because I really don’t want to offend him. He put a lot of thought into it and that’s what counts, and I really appreciate it. But considering we’re both students I also feel bad if I keep an expensive gift from him that I only kind of like considering we’re students and that is a lot of money. . I know if I wear them they’re barely going to be noticeable. . and I hatehatehate having my hair up or even tucking it behind my ears and he knows that.
Opinions please!
thanks!

change it to store credit or get refund. it’s a lot of money. do thank him for nice gestures. but it’s too expensive to just lay it there. it can get stolen too.

I think that you should keep it. He tried his best to get you the perfect gift and you should honor his attempts rather than offend him in telling him that you don’t really want it.
